FIRST ANNOUNCEMENT

Dear colleagues

The Institute of Thermal Physics of the Ural Branch of RAS will hold the IV Russian Workshop Metastable States and Fluctuation Phenomena in Ekaterinburg on 16-18 October 2007. The aim of the workshop is to discuss the new results of experimental and theoretical investigations in the sphere of physics of metastable phase states and non-equilibrium processes, to determine the priority lines of investigations, to establish co-operation of various scientific groups and formulate the lines of integration investigation, to direct the ways of practical application of the results obtained.

Review lectures (up to 30 min.) and scientific communications (15 min.) will be presented at the workshop on the following topics:

  • nonequilibrium processes attendant on phase transi-tions
  • thermophysical properties of substances in metastable states
  • nucleation in liquids, gases and solids
  • dynamics of fluctuations in phase transitions and critical phenomena

Abstracts are designed in accordance with the indicated rules. When preparing the electronic version of an abstract one should use the text editor MS Word. The type is Times New Roman 12 pt. The text is typed at 1.5 intervals. The whole material presented (text, figures, references) should be located in a frame measuring 165 x 245 mm. The upper and the left margin of a page are 20 mm. The number of a page is not put down. An abstract including the text, figures, tables and references must be written within a single whole page.
The paper title is typed centered at the top of the page with capital bold letters followed by one blank line. Then at the centre of the page in bold letters are the initials and the surnames of the authors, further on the next line the authors institution is typed in italics, and after a comma the name of the city, then on the next line in italics at the centre of the page the E-mail address of a corresponding author. At last after another blank line the text of the abstract is typed with a break line, i. e. after three spacings.
In writing formulae one should use MS Word Equation Editor. It is necessary to use international standards for systems of units and notation of physical quantities. Figures should be presented in the black-and-white variant. The size of digits and capital letters in fig-ures is to be 4 mm. Captions are typed to the entire width of figures at one interval. After a caption a line is omitted (at one interval).
The letters in the word R E F E R E N C E S are typed with one spacing at the centre of the page and are separated by one-line gaps both from the end of the text and from the list of references arranged in the order of citation. Below you will find examples of references to a monograph [1] and a journal paper [2].
